(Douglasville, GA)- The Douglas County Board of Commissioners has approved a new county logo as part of its ongoing branding initiative. The new logo was unveiled during the BOC’s Work Session on Monday, June 17, 2024, following a presentation by the Office of Communications. It was approved by unanimous vote during the Legislative Session Tuesday evening.
The multi-colored image, which was created by the County’s Graphic Operations and Communications Departments, features a lower case “d” for Douglas and a lower case “c” for County. It blends colors from the official green and gold County Seal and shades of blue from the most recent County logo which features a sketch of the Douglas County courthouse.
“The logo change is the next step in our ongoing efforts to refine the Douglas County brand,” said Chief Communications Officer Yvette Jones. “It is an integration of the old and new, accented by a small red arrow, representing elevation and forward movement. Overall, it is a contemporary design that represents a fresh, new start for Douglas County.”
County Administrator David Corbin remarked, “We are excited about this next phase in our rebranding efforts. Douglas County is focused on propelling our community forward by forming a cohesive brand that aligns with our citizen-driven Strategic Plan and our slogan, ‘One Douglas. Forward Together.’”
The rollout of this new branding image will be executed in phases, beginning with Douglas County Government’s social media accounts, internal communications, and other collateral materials. Other assets, including county vehicles, signage, and website, will take longer to update. The official county seal will not change.
The County plans to keep the process cost-efficient by establishing a project timeline and effectively utilizing its in-house Graphic Operations Department. The target date for full transition of all County assets is first-quarter 2025.
Earlier this year, Douglas County Government updated the county’s website domain and social media names. This included changing the domain name from www.CelebrateDouglasCounty.com to www.DouglasCountyGa.gov. This transition was enacted to improve security and better centralize digital information.
