Legislative Commission Meetings

  • Schedule
    1. Legislative Meeting on first Tuesday of the month at 10 am
    2. Joint Meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission on the first Tuesday of the month at 6 pm. No meeting in July.
    3. Legislative Meeting on the third Tuesday of the month at 6 pm

* Some meeting times may be adjusted due to holidays. See BOC Meeting Schedule for exact dates.

Citizens may register to speak at the Commission Meetings by signing in at least ten minutes prior the start of the meeting in Citizens Hall.  All comments must be germane to the agenda. Citizens will have three (3) minutes to address the Board.

NOTICES:

* The second BOC Work Session in June will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 and the Commission meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 due to the Juneteenth holiday. 


*Effective April 19, 2022, all Legislative Commission Meetings will resume in person in Citizens Hall (Subject to change).


*Effective January 1, 2023 - All Work Sessions will will resume in person in Citizens Hall (Subject to change).

June 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. during a scheduled BOC Commission Meeting - To open up a 45-day comment period for the 2024-2026 Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Goal as required by the Federal Transit Administration, with the Goal based on FTA methodology.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL CALLED MEETING

No special called meetings scheduled at this time.


Work Sessions

  • 10 am
  • 1st and 3rd Monday on first Monday of the month (Note: last day of the month if the 1st day of the month falls on Tuesday).
  • Effective January 1, 2023, all Work Sessions will resume in person in Citizens Hall at the Douglas County Courthouse. 

Citizens may register to speak at the Work Sessions by signing in at least ten minutes prior the start of the meeting in Citizens Hall.   The public is invited to comment on any topic at the Work Session.  Citizens will have three (3) minutes to address the Board.

Please include your name, email address, phone # and topic in your request. Please refer to the County Ordinance regarding Citizen Participation by selecting the link below.

Public Participation at the Work Session Meeting

Citizens may register to speak at the Work Sessions by signing in at least ten minutes prior the start of the meeting in Citizens Hall.   The public is invited to comment on any topic at the Work Session.  Citizens will have three (3) minutes to address the Board.

The Work Session agenda will be published online on Thursday by 5:00 p.m. (prior to Monday's Work Session).

Citizens may register to speak at the Commission Meetings by signing in at least ten minutes prior the start of the meeting in Citizens Hall.  As a reminder, comments for the Commission Meeting shall be germane to the agenda. Citizens will have three (3) minutes to address the Board. 

The Commission Meeting agenda will be published on Monday (as soon as possible following the Work Session).

Agendas are subject to change after publication by a motion of any Commissioner during the legislative meeting, and agenda items may be tabled by motion during the meeting.

Minutes of Board of Commissioners’ meetings are available from the County Clerk after their approval.
