[ARCHIVED] Douglas County Partners w/ Elevate Douglas & WorkSource Georgia to Link Displaced Federal Employees

(Douglasville, GA)- Douglas County Board of Commissioners Chairman Dr. Romona Jackson Jones is spearheading an effort to link displaced federal employees to local employment resources, in partnership with Elevate Douglas and WorkSource Georgia.

The agencies are teaming up to conduct a messaging campaign targeting former federal employees who are in the market for new employment. The campaign urges job seekers to register for the WorkSource Geogia Portal to access a variety of resources, including employment and training opportunities, resume creation, and customization options to match skill sets with employer needs.

“The reality is thousands of displaced federal employees, many of whom live in this region and in our county, find themselves unexpectedly in the job market,” said Chairman Jones. “This can be a scary and stressful time. We want to do our part to ensure Douglas County residents are gainfully employed by opening the door to opportunities that match their skill sets and fill a need for local employers, as well. We are in this together,” said Chairman Jones.

“Elevate Douglas is committed to helping our local businesses thrive. We strongly encourage employers to register with WorkSource Georgia to connect with a pool of qualified, job-ready candidates and support the continued growth of our regional workforce,” said Chris Pumphrey, President of Elevate Douglas Economic Partnership.

The portal offers features for employers as well, including the ability to customize application questions, track applications, and automatically screen for candidates matching specific job requirements. To register for the portal, visit: www.WorkSourceGAPortal.com. Applicants and employers can also connect via email: WorkForce@WorkSourceGA.org or phone at 404-982-7985.
