[ARCHIVED] Douglas County Outdoor Warning System

FSGHPX Siren jpg

Each day, between 5:45 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. the Douglas County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), in conjunction with E-911, performs a routine *silent* test of the Outdoor Warning Siren.

Over the course of the past month, EMA has been working to refine operations, including shifting the manual silent test to an automated daily test to safeguard against the potential for human error. The automated system is now operational.

Additionally, the first Wednesday of the month EMA conducts an *audible* monthly test of the Outdoor Warning Siren at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Please be advised, the next scheduled monthly test is this Wednesday, November 6, 2024, weather permitting.

For more information about the warning system- where the sirens are located, what you should be able to hear, and how to best prepare for an emergency, we’ve produced the following video for your reference: EMA Warning System
