(Douglasville, GA)- Keep Douglas County Beautiful has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Governor’s Circle Award, which was accepted on behalf of the County last week by External Affairs Specialist, Jonathan Lewis, who manages the program.
The Governor’s Circle Award, presented to certified affiliates of ‘Keep America Beautiful,’ celebrates individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment in addressing community needs related to litter prevention, recycling, waste reduction, and beautification efforts.
“This recognition is significant because Keep Douglas County Beautiful serves as a catalyst for citizens and businesses to promote a clean, beautiful, and sustainable community,” said Assistant County Administrator and Chief of Staff, Tiffany Stewart-Stanley. She continued, “We appreciate Mr. Lewis’s commitment to Keep Douglas County Beautiful programs and events and the remarkable impact it has on our community.”
Douglas County has been an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful since 2018. The national non-profit organization educates and inspires citizens to become volunteers and take initiative in improving communities. The organization focuses on environmentally healthy, socially connected, and economically sound communities. Through education and community engagement, Keep Douglas County Beautiful will continue to make a positive impact on the community and quality of life for residents.
