  • There is a burning ban on all outdoor burning in all of Metro Atlanta, including Douglas County, between May 1 and October 1. This ban is imposed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division. The Douglas County Fire Department may also impose a total burn ban if conditions warrant (continued drought, high winds, high fire danger, etc.) During the remainder of the year,  all outdoor burning requires a permit from the Douglas County Fire Department.

  • The Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority handles all repairs on fire hydrants that are located adjacent to Public roads (770-942-6633). Individual businesses are responsible for the maintenance of fire hydrants located on private property. The Douglas County Fire Department cleans, paints, and checks the public hydrants on a semi-annual basis.

  • A copy of an incident report may be obtained by calling the Fire Department Administrative Offices at 770-942-8626. Reports require 24-hour notice, and are not available on a walk-in basis.

  • The Douglas County Fire Department Fire Safety House is available for civic groups, churches, and schools. The Fire Safety House is used to teach small children (ages 3 to 6) the importance of fire safety in the home. Fire Station tours are available to teach children about fire apparatus, fire equipment, etc. To schedule the Fire Safety House or a Fire Station tour, contact the Fire Safety Education Officer at 770-942-8626 or click HERE


    Please remember that, even with scheduled Fire Station tours, units are subject to emergency calls, and Fire Department units must interrupt the tour to respond to the call. Your tour will be rescheduled if you desire.
