Therapeutic Recreation
As defined by the National Therapeutic Recreation Society, therapeutic recreation uses treatment, education, and recreation services to help people with illnesses, disabilities, and other conditions to develop and use leisure opportunities in ways that enhance their health, functional abilities, independence, and quality of life.

Therapeutic Recreation
Most of our programs are free or low cost, with the exception of our monthly Dinner Night and Movie Nights which vary with cost based on participants choice of meals or snacks.

- Cooking & Gardening
- Deer Licks Reading Room & Media Center
- Explore Georgia
- Fitness Group
- Model Car or Wood Building Classes
- Pickleball
- Special Olympics (choices in 10 sports)

You must be 8 years old or older to compete with Douglas County in the Special Olympics. A medical form (PDF) must be on file.
