Senior Services provides a variety of services designed to promote and preserve the independence and integrity of older adults in Douglas County. The department’s vision is a community in which every older adult is able to maintain an independent lifestyle as long as possible without sacrificing their dignity or self-esteem.
Services are available to all Douglas County residents age 60 and older.
Congregate Meal Program Closed Until Further Notice
Due to the recent Corona Virus Pandemic the Douglas County Senior Center will be closed until further notice. The senior center will not be providing transportation to the center, no meals will be served at the center and no activities will take place. Meals on Wheels and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation will continue at this time. Homemaker services have been suspended until further notice. The Senior Prom that was scheduled for May 30 has been postponed. When the Prom has been rescheduled, details will be posted.
