The Program:
The Douglas County Youth Commission is a student leadership and enrichment program for high schoolers in Douglas County. The program runs parallel to the school year and twice a month, Youth Commissioners learn through a county-developed interactive curriculum with Douglas County government and community leaders on government operations, law, the process of community planning, and economic development, community art and creativity, and much more. The Youth Commission will also be developing a community project.

Our Youth Commission class of 2023 learning sessions have included Planning and Zoning, Socio-economic trends of Metro-Atlanta, Demographics, Arts and Culture in Douglas, Douglas Communications, Judicial Process, Business in Douglas, and Public Health. The Youth Commission’s community service work has included organizing donated items for the Volunteer Douglas Give Drive.
