Alcohol Beverage Licensing

The Occupational Tax Department processes Alcohol Licenses for Off-Premises and On-Premises alcohol consumption, pursuant to Chapter 3 of the Douglas County Code of Ordinances, and all applicable State and Federal regulations.

On-premises alcohol consumption, also referred to as sales by the drink, apply to all enclosed spaces within the proprietor’s building and any other areas outside the proprietor’s buildings which are under direct control of the proprietor.  Alcohol licenses for on-premises consumption are only issued to a restaurant, hotel, private club, or lounge. All other alcohol licenses are limited to sales for off-premises consumption of beer and wine only.

An appointment is required to review the Application for Alcohol Licenses.  If a business with an alcohol license is sold to a new owner, an Application for Alcohol Licenses Transfer must be submitted.

A completed packet can be emailed to businesslicense@douglascountyga.gov to start the process of applying for an alcohol license. Please contact 770-920-7351 or email businesslicense@douglascountyga.gov with questions about a new alcohol license or an alcohol license transfer.
