Biography

Attorney Whitney Kenner Jones is the owner and managing member of Kenner Jones Law, LLC. Attorney Kenner Jones received her Bachelor of Science degree from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Public Health/Community Health Education, and subsequently obtained a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Strayer University in Raleigh, NC. Ultimately obtaining her law degree from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law located in Macon, GA. 

She is a passionate advocate dedicated and committed to helping and supporting her community through fierce social justice advocacy and legal representation. She aspires to continue to build and further develop a positive and supportive community for all the residents of Douglas County. Her obligation to the community is demonstrated through her participation and community volunteerism with activities like the Ride/Scoot to school events for New Manchester Elementary School and through her daily work in Child Welfare Law.  

In her professional life, Attorney Kenner Jones specializes in civil practice and participates in litigation across a variety of practice areas. Attorney Kenner Jones is most passionate about her work in the child welfare system and has demonstrated a commitment to supporting and developing the next generation of our youth through her efforts at using the legal system to positively support families. She believes in the Juvenile Justice System’s commitment to ensure appropriate care, treatment, and rehabilitation for youth involved in the court system, while recognizing the disparate impact to minorities navigating the juvenile legal system.  

In addition to Attorney Kenner Jones’ law practice, she provides independent and neutral discrimination and harassment investigations for organizations such as, corporations, colleges, and universities. She showcases a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and assists organizations in creating a work force that is committed to those same values. She helps foster a working team that functions as a well-oiled unit, where they completely benefit from diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and talents, and at the same time, assisting in removing barriers to access, and eliminating discrimination and harassment in the workplace.   

Further, Attorney Kenner Jones continues to showcase a commitment to workforce development having served on the Executive Board of Power Up, Inc. an organization dedicated to funneling 

girls into lucrative careers in construction and engineering, since 2016. Attorney Kenner Jones has served as an elected member of the Tributary at New Manchester Alliance Board of Trustees since 2019 and has served as the Alliance president since 2023. As part of her duties, she leads the Board of Trustees in managing the community’s budget for capital improvements, and helps the community remain fiscally responsible while managing budget requests and funding allocations. Previously, Attorney Kenner Jones served as the Vice President of the Heron Ridge Homeowner’s Association in Ridgefield, Washington; and served as an appointed member of the City of Ridgefield Planning Commission in Ridgefield, Washington.  

Attorney Kenner Jones is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the West Georgia Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, The National Bar Association, The Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, The Douglas County Bar Association, and was Top 40 under 40 National Black Lawyers in 2020. Attorney Kenner Jones is a licensed attorney in good standing in Oregon and Georgia.
